So, we just found out about an audition in the Dallas area this Saturday, May 2. And guess who is crazy enough to give it another shot?
That’s right, none other than Hannah and Grace. You only thought you were done with us! Looks like we’ll still be needing everyone’s help. Watch the blog for more updates and how you can help!
Thanks! (And don’t miss all the videos I just uploaded from this weekend! Be sure to check out my previous few posts and have a laugh on me)

Us at the casino. Waiting.
Dad pretending he’s going to go gamble away all his money. Ha HA! Yeah right!
(Dad did not, I repeat did NOT do any gambling on this trip. I don’t think he ever has for that matter, not even a poker game…he was just trying to be funny.)
More waiting. Hannah’s worn out.
Line starts HERE.
Even MORE WAITING! We’re No. 4 in line!
Us with PHIL!!! (sort of)

Check out Hannah’s navigational skills. Dad still doesn’t trust tomtom.
In this video we’ve just arrived at my uncle’s house in Oak Park. Watch my face, then watch my dad’s. It’s ridiculous. And HILARIOUS.
This is us getting all our application materials printed off and assembled for the race auditions!

Ok, so it’s been a long day, so I’m going to be brief.
We didn’t get to try out. Since it was inside the actual casino, security refused to let us step on the carpet. We talked to one of the head guys at the casino and he said there was no way I could enter the room where the casting was because you had to go through the casino to get there. Also, there’s some kind of law that says no one under 21 can step foot in the place or they get fined $100,000.
So, bummer.
But, it’s ok, we had a great time planning this campaign, learned a lot, made a ton of great contacts, and new friends as a result, and are just happy we gave it a shot and actually went for it.
I mean, I said from the beginning that this was the craziest thing I’d ever done, and I definitely stick by that statement. But man, it’s been so fun and so exciting, an adventure all on its own. And what’s life without a little craziness and spontaneity once in a while?
So, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to everyone who helped us out with the campaign and supported us through it all! It’s been a real pleasure and we truly appreciate all the love and support.
And now, we get to spend the weekend in my favorite city! We already went to Millennium Park today, and Lake Michigan, and even went to a White Sox game! It’s been a blast, and we’re looking forward to the rest of the weekend with family!
Let me know if you have any suggestions for what we should do tomorrow! Thanks again guys. We couldn’t have done any of this without, and we’ve loved every minute of it.
Thanks for going on this adventure with us!

Surprisingly, the Harrah’s in Joliet, Illinois (just outside Chicago it turns out) has free wi-fi
So, we’re coming to you live this morning. Hannah’s pretty wiped. Joel wussed out and slept in the van. Dad and I are sitting on the floor twiddling our thumbs. Ha ha.
We were the fourth group to get here. It’s so funny, this one guy has totally taken charge and made a sign in sheet for when a ton of people get here so that there’s not a mad rush to get to the front of the line. Clever. Seems to be working. People are going along with it. Everyone here is really chummy, but we haven’t really socialized much. (Well, Dad has, but he always makes new friends when we go places-poor guy, he’s such a trooper)
We’ve spent most of our time filling out our applications and figuring out what we’re going to say in our two minute audition. We’ve come up w/ a top 10 list of reasons why CBS should put us on the race. But I won’t share those now. Gotta save something for later.
The line doesn’t officially form until 6 a.m. and they don’t let us in the audition waiting area until 8 a.m. Actual auditions start at 10 a.m.
I’m not gonna lie, I’m getting a little worried they’re going to take one look at my birthday and tell us to peace out…
which is a very real possibility. And we knew that. I know that. But I just hope against hope that we at least get a shot at it. Oh! We might be lining up! Gotta go!!!!
